CLASSIC THEATRE FESTIVAL Classic Theatre Festival: July 13-September 2, 2012 Every summer in heritage Perth, some of Canada's top theatrical talent stage works from the golden age of Broadway and the London Stage. The 2012 season features Two for the Seesaw (July 13-August 5) by William Gibson (author of The Miracle Worker, the story of Helen Keller). It's a quirky romantic comedy (and Tony Award winner for best play) of two lost souls finding each other in late 1950s New York City. That's followed by Mary, Mary by Jean Kerr (who also penned the beloved bestselling satire on suburban life, Please Don't Eat the Daisies), running August 10-September 2. It's the 8th-longest running play in Broadway history, as audiences laughed their way through four years of this show about second chances in married life. Shows run Wednesday-Saturday at 8 pm, with 2 pm matinees Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Mason Theatre, 13 Victoria Street (inside PDCI). Plein Air Art Festival The second annual Plein Air Art event will take place in October . Registration begins at 8: 30 at The Cove. All art must be back at the Cove for judging by 3:30. Cost of registration is $25 . Cash prizes and a wine and cheese social will conclude the event. There will be a special category for those who chose to paint at Foley Mountain Conservation Area.
