About the Westport & Rideau Lakes
Chamber of Commerce

Objectives

The Westport & Rideau Lakes Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization and it's objectives are as follows:

  1. To serve the community and in particular, it's business interests.
  2. To provide information services to the public, i.e.: business, industry, potential residents and tourism.
  3. To work with all levels of Government for the good of the community.
  4. To encourage, promote and improve the overall business climate in the community.
  5. To attract industry and tourism to the community.
  6. To maintain a focus on key issues and concerns and offer assistance to solve these problems.
  7. To support other groups in their efforts to serve the community.
  8. In addition, we sponsor the Antique Show and Sale, Citizen of the Year Award, and Canada Day Celebrations. We work hand-in-hand with the Ontario and Canadian Chambers of Commerce acting as liaison between Business and Government.

There’s a ton of reasons to visit this area. Fresh air, nature and hiking trails. It’s a great place for a bike or boat ride. But clearly, people love the unique shopping and retail stores found here. Westport Rideau Lakes Chamber members know the value of a dollar; they excel at service and offer a wide selection of goods and services. We really do boast great shopping. WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE:

From May until mid-October boaters use the municipal dock located on Upper Rideau Lake in Westport. Village amenities are easily accessible via a footbridge. Within easy driving of Westport are dozens of lakes; canoeing, boating and fishing are favourite pastimes in the area. Boat and canoe rentals are available in town.
